The Beer Year started out like any usual idea; after finishing my third IPA one sunny Sunday Funday I thought to myself, "Hmm I wonder how many different beers I could drink in a year?" After a couple more IPA's I decided 365 is enough to satisfy my thirst. Follow me on my journey to drink a different beer every day throughout the year.

 Day 1

Day 1

Dos Equis Lager Especial

Type/Style
Lager/Pilsner

Brewery
Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma Brewery

ABV
4.3%

My Thoughts
This is actually the first beer I ever drank, my first keg beer, and my first keg stand beer. All happened on the same night, so I felt obligated to start this beer year with one that has a special place in my heart (and my best friend's back porch). It's a very solid beer to drink if you're looking for a smooth taste to kick back your feet and relax with.

Would drink again?
Yes, hopefully not during a keg stand.

 Day 2

Day 2

Alamo golden ale

Type/Style
American Blonde Ale

Brewery
Alamo Beer Company

ABV
4.7%

My Thoughts
This is the first of many beers I plan to drink from Alamo. Fun fact about this brewery is it's the first since the 1919 prohibition to name a beer "Alamo" in San Antonio, and it first opened in 2014. To be honest I think they should've waited until 2019 to do a 100 year kind of thing, but missed opportunities. Anyways, this beer was superb and has a very smooth almost sweet taste to it.

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 3

Day 3

voodoo ranger

Type/Style
India Pale Ale

Brewery
New Belgium

ABV
7%

My Thoughts
My first IPA for the year, and it did not disappoint. When I took my first sip I was welcomed by a sweet grapefruit taste. Personally these are my favorite because of my love for all things bitter, and this one was a perfect amount without overpowering the citrus taste. I'm also going to do my first for the year and suggest to drink this beer with chalupas and rice. Why? Mexican food is always a good idea with an IPA.

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 4

Day 4

Alamo german pale ale

Type/Style
German Pale Ale

Brewery
Alamo Beer Company

ABV
5.2%

My Thoughts
I had no idea how to describe this. I took a quick sniff of it and the first thing that came to mind was a leftover Bud Light from the night before. If you love a Malt beverage this is the beer for you. I'm not a big fan myself, but I look forward to seeing what other German Ale's bring to the table throughout the year.

Would drink again?
No

 Day 5

Day 5

Pabst Blue Ribbon

Type/Style
Lager

Brewery
Pabst Brewing Co.

ABV
4.7%

My Thoughts
Drinking this on a Friday brings back memories of many backyard hangouts in Richmond, VA. I love this beer, and I don't really know why. It has such a smooth malty taste, and it just looks so patriotic. I feel like this is the beer you can offer anyone and they'll be hyped on it. Then again, free beer is always a reason to be hyped.

Would drink again?
1000x Yes

 Day 6

Day 6

el chingón

Type/Style
American India Pale Ale

Brewery
Four Corners Brewery

ABV
7.8%

My Thoughts
No better way to celebrate my move to a new city than a strong Texas IPA. Everything about this beer screams badass. The rooster is confident, the ABV is high, and it's called El Chingón for heaven's sake. Which means badass in Spanish. As the beer description says, "It's pure hops machismo." I'm also a huge fan of the pop top giving me full vent with the smoothest of pours.

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 7

Day 7

Alamo india pale ale

Type/Style
India Pale Ale

Brewery
Alamo Beer Company

ABV
5.5%

My Thoughts
My final Alamo beer (At least that was in my Christmas stocking). Very smooth taste for an IPA. Doesn't have the bitterness or fruity flavor either. If I were to blind taste this I would 100% say it was a lager. I would definitely recommend this to anyone taking that first step into the world of IPA's.

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 8

Day 8

Best damn root beer

Type/Style
Hard Soda

Brewery
Best Damn Brewing Co.

ABV
5.5%

My Thoughts
I'm gonna be completely honest here. I f*cked up. I did not do my research in finding a new set of brews to try here in Denver. Luckily I had this gem in my car. Since this is a beer blog I was going to stay away from hard soda, but it's got "beer" in the name so that's good enough for me. This tasted like Bourbon was poured in my root beer. It's delicious, but these kind of beverages really weigh you down after one bottle.

Would drink again?
No

 Day 9

Day 9

Ol' Zippy

Type/Style
American Pale Ale

Brewery
Post Brewing Co.

ABV
5%

My Thoughts
Finally, I got my hands on some Colorado beer (that wasn't Coors). I was a little skeptical at first since it said the word premium. Usually, good beers don't have to say they're good, but this one was an exception. It is a very balanced beer when it comes to bitterness and flavor. More on the dry side, but very sweet in it's finish (grapefruit, but maybe a hint of lemon). Overall a good beer with a sweet can.

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 10

Day 10

Citrafonix IPA

Type/Style
India Pale Ale

Brewery
Oakshire Brewing

ABV
6.3%

My Thoughts
When I got my variety pack of beers I kind of just grabbed the coolest looking cans. I thought they would all be Colorado beers, but to my surprise this little guy comes from Eugene, Oregon. This brewery is pretty dank. They test out a bunch of different flavors, and a few eventually become regulars like this one. They even make some really strong beers I plan to search out and taste sometime this year. Oh right the beer! It's really good. I am a big grapefruit lover and it felt I was sucking the fruit right off the peel.

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 11

Day 11

5 Barrel pale ale

Type/Style
Pale Ale

Brewery
Odell Brewing Co

ABV
5.2%

My Thoughts
I don't know what I was thinking earlier, but I kept thinking Odell was O'doul's. So I was gonna write about how I once bought O'doul's when I was younger thinking I was cool that I bought beer underaged, but I wasn't just like this isn't O'doul's. This was a decent beer. You could smell a hint of pine from it, and the taste was very malty. When I drank it it had a very creamy feel to it, and much more hops to it than I expected (even though the 5 literally means the 5 hops in it).

Would drink again?
No

 Day 12

Day 12

Isolation Ale

Type/Style
Winter Warmer/Ale

Brewery
Odell Brewing Co

ABV
6.1%

My Thoughts
So I'm about to head out of work when my buddy asks if I want a beer before I take off. So naturally I agreed and he gave me this little guy. I was trying to not go back to back with breweries, but this one was so good I had to write about it. This one had a strong malty flavor, but well balanced with a hint of chocolate in it. Definitely lives up to being a winter warmer as I got halfway through it and the spices made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 13

Day 13

Pils

Type/Style
American Lager

Brewery
River North Brewery

ABV
5.3%

My Thoughts
Another can I solely got because of the way it looks. There's something to be said for a simple design and no fancy name. I'm not as young as I used to so I don't usually chug a beer like water, but this one was just so damn smooth. Has to be the Rocky Mountain water that makes it so refreshing. If I needed a post workout beer this would be my first choice.

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 14

Day 14

White rascal

Type/Style
Belgian White Ale

Brewery
Avery Brewing Co.

ABV
5.6%

My Thoughts
I wasn't too sure about what I was getting into by looking at bottle, but this beer year is all about adventure so I gave it a shot. This is the first beer I've ever drank that I would consider spicy. Not in a hot way, but like in a zesty way. It's definitely a beer that gets better as it warms up. I usually never get to drink a room temperature beer, but the amount of zest really held back my thirst.

Would drink again?
No

 Day 15

Day 15

7k Ipa

Type/Style
India Pale Ale

Brewery
Santa Fe Brewing Co.

ABV
7%

My Thoughts
I didn't photograph it, but the name 7K is on the side and I believe this is the first beer I've come across where the brewery takes center stage over the name of the beer. After looking at their website they do it with all their beers, and I think it's well designed and beautifully simplistic. As for the beer it was delicious. I'm not sure what the altitude does to them, but more beers need to be made 7,198 ft above sea level.

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 16

Day 16

Heyzues

Type/Style
Mexican Lager

Brewery
Melvin Brewing

ABV
5.2%

My Thoughts
When I first saw this beer I thought it was pretty clever using "HeyZues" as the title. Looking at Zues in a mariachi outfit had me laugh for a second. As for the beer it was very easy drink with clean crisp flavor that I felt tasted like green apple along with other citrus flavors.

Would drink again?
Yes

 Dat 17

Dat 17

The one they call zoe

Type/Style
American Pale Lager

Brewery
Hops and Grain

ABV
5.2%

My Thoughts
Lagers are quickly becoming one of my favorite beers. While they don't pack the flavor of an IPA, but they make up for it with an easy to drink smooth taste. The same goes for this beer which had a bitter taste to begin with, but a sweet finish. Plus I just had a whole pizza to myself, so I didn't want to weigh myself down even more with a heavy beer.

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 18

Day 18

Hawaiian bartender

Type/Style
American Wild Ale

Brewery
 Odd 13 Brewing

ABV
6.7%

My Thoughts
I gotta admit that this one was a tough one to drink. I don't look up these beers before I drink them so usually I'll take a whiff before to try and figure out what I'm getting into. It smelled amazing with a fruity aroma, and once I drank it I was hit with a sour taste of pineapple and other fruits. I'm not a big fan of sour, so it took a good thirty minutes to put this one down. I'm hoping to find a sour beer I like, but this one was a little to strong for me.

Would drink again?
No

 Day 19

Day 19

Rambling route hard pear cider

Type/Style
Cider

Cidery
 Rambling Route

ABV
6.9%

My Thoughts
I know the title of this is the beer year, but I found this in the beer aisle so it counts. This was a great drink all the way through. It didn't taste as sugary as most ciders, and it went down smooth with a crisp finish. It's pear flavored, but the pear doesn't overwhelm it at all and it just taste sweet. Normally I can only drink 1 or 2 ciders for the evening, but I feel I can knock back a whole 6-pack of these in a night (Please drink responsibly).

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 20

Day 20

Good river beer Pilsner

Type/Style
American Pilsner

Brewery
 Good River Beer

ABV
6%

My Thoughts
I'm a fan of this beer for two reasons. First, it was a solid drink. A welcoming sweet taste with plenty of hops to it. Much stronger than your normal pilsner, but its recipe goes back to pre prohibition days (Guess they were much better back then). Second, this brewery donates 2% of all their sales to river conservation efforts. Finally, a beer that makes my thirst a good thing.

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 21

Day 21

Fathom

Type/Style
IPA

Brewery
 Ballast Point Brewing Co.

ABV
6%

My Thoughts
Full transparency I am a day late writing this one. It was my birthday, so it was tough to drink this one after drinking roughly 10 mimosas from earlier in the day. This will probably be my weakest review, but from what I remember it was a very smooth beer that didn't really weigh me down. I'm looking forward to drinking this again someday and updating this post.

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 22

Day 22

Wave wheel wit

Type/Style
Belgian Wheat Ale

Brewery
 Elevation Beer Co.

ABV
4.6%

My Thoughts
This was definitely a great find when I went to go get another 6-pack for the week. After yesterday I didn't want to drink anymore alcohol, but I needed to keep this going so I looked for the lowest ABV i could find. I'm more of a bang for buck guy, so usually go for the higher ABV, but I need to start trying out these "soft" beers. I could smell the citrus aroma the moment I opened it, and I could taste every bit of the orange and spiced flavors added to it. It was delicious!

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 23

Day 23

HUSKY IPA

Type/Style
IPA

Brewery
 Alaskan Brewing Co.

ABV
7%

My Thoughts
I got pretty excited when I saw this one. Not only is it an IPA, but it's named after one of the best dogs ever! Turns out these beers are all made from glacier water, and I'm not sure what that does for it, but the beer was great. Didn't taste too strong and almost went down as smooth as a lager. Not what you want in a 7% beer, but I'm not complaining.

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 24

Day 24

Settle Down Brown

Type/Style
American Brown

Brewery
Odell Brewing Co

ABV
6.5%

My Thoughts
Odell Brewing is really killing it when it comes to artwork. When I drank this beer I could almost throw myself on to this can. Who doesn't want to kick up their feet, sit by the fire with their best bud, and just relax. This winter beer is exactly what any person needs during those snowy days. The rich malty and tropical flavors mixed with caramel really warms you up, and leaves you wanting more.

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 25

Day 25

Prost pils

Type/Style
German Pilsener

Brewery
Prost Brewing

ABV
4.5%

My Thoughts
I feel so betrayed. I needed an easy to drink beer after my day, so I thought, "Oh I'll just grab the Pils. It won't be too much." I was completely wrong. A german pilsener has way more flavor than the American ones I'm used to. It got easier the more I drank, but be prepared for that initial flavor of spices when you take your first sip.

Would drink again?
No

 Day 26

Day 26

Hemp ale

Type/Style
American Brown Ale

Brewery
Humboldt Brewing

ABV
5.7%

My Thoughts
I just want to mention that the tag for this beer is totally toasted, and for some reason couldn't stop laughing at that for a solid 10 seconds. Anyways when I first opened this beer it had a sweet earthy smell to it. Now I'm not sure if there is any potency in this from the hemp, but after I downed this bad boy I had the best sleep of my life.

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 27

Day 27

Rye Saison

Type/Style
Saison

Brewery
Finkel & Garf Brewery

ABV
6.5%

My Thoughts
This is totally gonna ruin the pattern of my beers, but I had to show off the view in the background. I don't know about ya'll, but getting rewarded after doing something difficult feels pretty damn good. What possessed me and my buddy to hike a mountain on an icy trail with normal sneakers? I have no idea, but we made it and we rewarded with the liquid courage we needed to go back down. Pretty sure it contributed to us eating it a few times as well.

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 28

Day 28

Hop Rising

Type/Style
Double IPA

Brewery
Squatters

ABV
9%

My Thoughts
I enjoy a high percentage beer because it forces me to slow down, and take my time drinking it. Not saying a chug my beers, but I am saying I'm a little more thirsty than the normal beer drinker. This was a happy middle between low and high. It was refreshing with a sweet taste, but no grapefruit flavor or at least no strong taste of it. A perfect Sunday Funday beer in my opinion.

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 29

Day 29

laughing lab

Type/Style
Scottish Ale

Brewery
Bristol Brewing

ABV
5.4%

My Thoughts
One of the best feelings in the world is after having a long day, you come home to pure excitement from your dog seeing you open that door. Unfortunately, I have no such majestic creature so I'm going to settle for a beer with a dog on the label. It was a descent beer with a roasted malty flavor, and smooth throughout. Not one of my favorites, but I'd buy again for the sweet dog on the label.

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 30

Day 30

zero 2 sixty

Type/Style
IPA

Brewery
Two Roads

ABV
6%

My Thoughts
It's always a nice find when I research the breweries of these beers and finding out that not only is it in a different state (CT), but it's also a seasonal beer. This one was really flavorful with a nice balanced tartness to it all the way through. I can definitely see this beer being the beverage of choice for the mayor of Flavortown himself, Guy Fieri.

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 31

Day 31

Hazy little thing

Type/Style
IPA

Brewery
Sierra Nevada

ABV
6.7%

My Thoughts
There's just something about cans that bottles can't beat. Some of the best designs I've seen have been in cans. Beautiful color and design that's sure to catch the eye of everyone as you hold this gem. The flavor definitely complimented the can with tropical/citrus hops, with a bitter taste all the way through. Can't believe a month has gone by since I started this adventure. The only way to celebrate is to continue drinking!

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 32

Day 32

fresh hop

Type/Style
Pale Ale

Brewery
Great Divide

ABV
6.1%

My Thoughts
What you can see is the dent in the can (damn popcorn), but what you can't see is the right side that says limited release. Something about exclusivity makes anything taste better...most of the time. Anyways this beer tasted great and was a very easy drink. I wasn't even halfway through my dinner and I had already downed the whole can. I'm a monster.

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 33

Day 33

High Life

Type/Style
Lager

Brewery
Miller Brewing Co.

ABV
4.1%

My Thoughts
So I have my good friend Andrew Vessels to thank for this idea. For the month of February I will be drinking a different forty every Friday. Definitely throws in some flavor into this beer year, but I'm definitely going to regret it one of these days. Anyways, I'll be honest that the High Life is my favorite of all the poor man's beer. While it lacks in flavor it makes up for a quick and easy drink. Seriously, took me only 10 minutes to finish off this big guy.

 Day 34

Day 34

Overcast

Type/Style
Expresso Stout

Brewery
Oakshire Brewing

ABV
5.8%

My Thoughts
Another day, another beer, and another background mountain shot. I got super excited to try this one, especially since I needed the energy to travel around the city of Vail (which is amazingly beautiful). It packed a lot of flavor from oatmeal to chocolate that made every sip enjoyable. Personally it got me through the day. Maybe next time I won't drink it at 9am, but I recommend this for anyone trying to rally.

 Day 35

Day 35

Howdy

Type/Style
American Pilsener

Brewery
Post Brewing

ABV
4.5%

My Thoughts
I'll gravitate to any beer that reminds me of my home state Texas. If they were to add "ya'll" to the name I would probably only buy this can. Right when I opened it I was welcomed with a burst of foam, and the first sip was a pleasant mild bitter flavor. I wish I could've taken my time on this beer, but I had to rush to a Super Bowl get together. Luckily my clothes were all clean thanks to Tide. This is a Tide ad.

 Day 36

Day 36

Redacted

Type/Style
Rye IPA

Brewery
Renegade Brewing Company

ABV
7%

My Thoughts
So I've been reading the Beer Bible, and I'm kind of getting the hang of understanding how to better judge these beers. I'm still just your average beer lover, but I feel a little more cultured. This one had a very citrusy smell, very close to a passion fruit. The taste was also sweet with a bready taste. That taste reminds me that I can't miss a day at the gym or I'm screwed this beach season.

 Day 37

Day 37

99 problems but a peach ain't one

Type/Style
Sour Ale

Brewery
The Larimer

ABV
5.2%

My Thoughts
I tried a sour ale last month so I was a little hesitant about trying this one. However, this one was absolutely delicious. It just exploded with peach flavor and you got the little hints of ginger in it. It may say sour, but it was a well balanced beer that went down smooth the entire way. Fun fact about this brewery is that every can has this same dude on it, but dressed differently. Definitely going to try and find another can from them!

Would drink again?
Yes

 Day 38

Day 38

Brown Ale

Type/Style
Brown Ale

Brewery
Upslope Brewing

ABV
6.7%

My Thoughts
I'm all for simplicity, and I do believe less is more. However, I also love originality and this was a big disappointment in terms of beer name. There isn't one and I guess that's good cause the beer I drank yesterday was pretty good. As for the beer it was malty, but a little too much brown sugar. It didn't pack the flavor of other brown ale's I've had, so a little difficult to drink.

Would drink again?
No

 Day 39

Day 39

Los Locos

Type/Style
Mexican Lager

Brewery
Epic Brewing

ABV
4.8%

My Thoughts
I haven't drank a Mexican Lager since my first beer on this journey, and I certainly didn't think I'd drink one in Denver. I also wanted to know what made this a lager Mexican. I took a sip of it and it had this weird taste that was almost spicy. Not too much where it was overpowering, but it was lip smacking. I then look at the ingredients and it has natural lime juice and salt in it. I guess this is their attempt to turn a marg into a beer. Well....I say they came pretty close.

 Day 40

Day 40

King cobra

Type/Style
American Malt Liquor

Brewery
Anheuser Busch

ABV
6%

My Thoughts
King Cobra comes in the second installment of February Forty Fridays. I hate I'm doing this. Most beers I'm like, "Can't wait to try", but this I'm just ready to pound away to get it over with. Don't get me wrong I'm sure this is a quality choice for those on a budget looking to get turnt, but I'm just not a fan. Luckily it goes down smooth.

 Day 41

Day 41

Lagunitas Sucks

Type/Style
Imperial Double IPA

Brewery
Lagunitas Brewing Co.

ABV
8%

My Thoughts
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Nah, I'm just kidding with ya'll. I don't start getting hyped for Christmas until November. I was just lucky to find this beast in the beer aisle. Now this isn't your normal holiday ale...well it's not a holiday ale at all. It's just a super hopped IPA to make up for not having the time to make a holiday ale. I'm not complaining because this was a damn good beer.

Would drink again?

 Day 42

Day 42

Titan

Type/Style
IPA

Brewery
Great Divide

ABV
7.1%

My Thoughts
As much as I love IPA's this one just didn't do it for me. It had a citrusy taste throughout, but the piney hops overpowered it and now I know I'm not big on piney hops. Even though I'm not a big fan of the beer, I'm a big fan of the brewery. Most of the time we grab a beer to eat with our food, but is it a good pairing with what you're eating. Great Divide is generous enough to put out food pairings for their beer giving you ideas of what to make next time you grab their beer.

 Day 43

Day 43

bavik

Type/Style
Pilsner

Brewery
Brouwerij De Brabandere

ABV
5.2%

My Thoughts
To my surprise this beer came straight from Belgium. Pretty sure it was a mistake to be in the variety beer packs, but this mistake was a good grab for me. Going into it I thought it would be like every other pilsner, but damn this beer was tasty. Smooth all the way through with the bitterness coming out through the aroma all the way to the last drop. This beer has been made since 1894 which proves, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Day 44

Liliko'i Kepolo

Type/Style
Belgian White Ale

Brewery
Avery Brewery

ABV
5.4%

My Thoughts
I'm starting to get used to these sour beers. I've always been a fan of IPA's because of the grapefruit, but I'm liking the use of other fruits. It had to be the passion fruit that really made this beer almost taste like a mimosa. Speaking of passion fruit happy mardi gras everyone! Drink plenty of hurricanes, and good luck finding the baby in the King's Cake.

 Day 45

Day 45

Rupture

Type/Style
Fresh Grind Ale

Brewery
Odell Brewing Co

ABV
6%

My Thoughts
Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I hope it was full of sweets and beer like mine was. Before I get into the beer I just found out that Odell has a pint glass with the same artwork on the can. They are definitely my favorite brewery so far, and I'm gonna try to bring you every beer from them. As for the beer it was delicious. Smooth and crisp with a bunch of juicy aromas. This comes from the process of grinding all the way to the core of the hops to release the flavorful oil.

 Day 46

Day 46

stone Ripper

Type/Style
San Diego Pale Ale

Brewery
Stone Brewing

ABV
5.7%

My Thoughts
When I write in the style of a beer I usually go to the brewery's website to make sure I put down the correct type. When I saw "San Diego Pale Ale" I was so confused and wondered what does that even mean?! From what I gathered it comes from the English pale ale method of throwing in the hops when the beer is aging instead of when it's boiling. It's really called West Coast style, but I'll go with what's on the website. Oh yeah, and the beer was delicious.

Day 47

Type/Style
American Malt Liquor

Brewery
Miller Coors Brewing Co

ABV
8.1%

My Thoughts
I've never felt so drained after drinking a beer until today. This was a marathon to get this behemoth finished, and when I was down I instantly regretted it. I'll admit it has more taste than the other forties I've drank, but that made it less smooth to drink. Three down, one more to go for February Friday Forties.

Day 48

Tartastic

Type/Style

Brewery
New Belgium Brewery

ABV
4.5%

My Thoughts
This one was super delicious. I'm definitely drinking this again in the summer on a nice sunny day. I had to drink this one right before midnight since I went to a late showing of Black Panther. By the way...AMAZING movie that you need to go watch #WakandaForever. As for the beer, ff I had to compare it to something it tasted very similar to a lemon kombucha. Subtle taste of alcohol, but very sweet and easy to drink.

 Day 49

Day 49

hefeweizen

Type/Style
Wheat Ale

Brewery
Weldwerks Brewing

ABV
5.5%

My Thoughts
The name is actually the type of beer from Germany. The yeast gives it an unfiltered and cloudy appearance. It went down really smooth with the taste of bananas, and mild bitterness. The brewery puts a unique twist to the hefeweizen by adding whirlpool hops which extracts the oils and gives it a spicy flavor. It was a very good beer, and it went really well with my leftover steak.

 Day 50

Day 50

Type/Style

Brewery
Victory Brewing Company

ABV
5.5%

My Thoughts
I've never felt so betrayed by a beer than by this one. When I grab beers I usually just look at the style and I can pretty much guess the range the ABV will be in. If it's an IPA it's usually above 6.2% and I am a person who enjoys a decent percentage beer. However, I look at this label, see 5.5%, and my heart breaks. It took all my willpower to write this review, and all I gotta say is it was good, but I'm checking the labels from now on to not risk another heartbreak.

This is a sweet brewery and an even sweeter beer. They are constantly changing the hop they put in this beer, so when they change the hop again I might revisit this beer. Right now they're using Mandarina Bavaria hop which has a very strong tangerine flavor. You could almost smell it from the moment you open the can. I recommend this for anyone that loves a citrus flavor and can stand a high bitterness.

My Thoughts
I couldn't find any ciders when I went to pick up my new mix-n-match six pack, but I found this little beauty. I was really excited to drink this one since raspberries are one of my favorite fruits. However, I just wasn't feeling this one. The first few gulps tasted like I was drinking a sparkling water and not a beer. When I started to warm up you could taste the beer, but it just didn't taste like it went together. Definitely recommend to people who like ciders and raspberries.

My Thoughts
First, I want to say how cool the mascot of this beer is. Not sure if it's a nod to young thug, but the design is dope. I know that it seems I'm favoring IPA's, and to be honest I am when I go out and grab my variety sixer. However, after great responses from my introduction of this series on Facebook I'm gonna throw in much more variety after I'm done with my current sixer (4 days). As for this beer it had all the chugging smoothness of a lager with the juicy flavor of an IPA.

If you have dabbled in forties you knew I had to drink this before Friday Forties ended. For those who have never touched a forty; stay pure for as long as you can. I'm not gonna lie I've actually never drank this before today. I always saw this as the last resort forty. Well I'm here to tell you this was actually my favorite forty for two reasons. One, the taste wasn't overbearing with a corn and malt flavor. Much different from the sweet I'm used to. And second, even when it got to room temperature it was still a descent drink. I'm glad to say though I'm done with February Friday Forties, and looking forward to my next challenge.

My Thoughts
Oh man was this a relief after my Saturday adventures. Went to a distillery tasting with unlimited tastings. While it was a good event for me to learn the geography of Colorado, and get to understand the making of spirits, I felt unlimited tastings was a tad aggressive. So, when I got back home and knocked back this guy it was a relief to have the sweet hops flavors wash away the rum and vodka tastes I had. This one is a beer I recommend taking your time with to fully enjoy the flavors.

My Thoughts
It's almost been two months of living in Denver. I've hiked mountains and ran around my neighborhood. I'm definitely a Townie. No, I'm nowhere close, but I'm going to drink it anyways. I love the artwork on this can. Very simple, and after asking a few of my Colorado buds, they did say this is a vehicle they would see a Townie drive. As for the beer the first drink was a little dry wanting me to take another quick sip. Very bitter masking the alcohol presence.

My Thoughts
I knew somehow that this beer would taste like pancakes. Craft beer has no limits when it comes to flavoring a beer. Drinking this made me feel like I was in the future drinking my meal. However, it's not absurdly sweet and has a more roasty flavor. I don't see myself drinking this again though. I'm not a morning beer drinker and that's the only time I feel I would drink this casually.

My Thoughts
Before I go into this beer go check out the website to this brewery, go ahead I'll wait.....welcome back and I'm sorry I put you through that. Just cause this brewery started in 1988 doesn't mean their website has to be from 1988. Enough roasting, and back to the beer judging. Not a very sweet beer with a very bitter taste that's more earthy than anything with a focus on spice. I'm partial to fruity beers, so wouldn't drink it again, but definitely a good beer for bitter lovers.

My Thoughts
Call me a superstitious person, but I just noticed that the last three beers have all been six percent and the final one is polygamy. If I don't write anymore after today y'all know what happened. What's cool is that this brewery was the first in Utah. This brewery has been known for bringing mischief to Utah, so they proudly name their beers focused around "evil". As cool as this brewery is I can't come to like a nitro porter. The chocolatey taste is too much for me.

After my scare yesterday I needed another six percent to save my soul. Luckily I had this savior in my six-pack rocking a cool 6.6% abv. Better safe than sorry. I also needed a slump breaker since I didn't enjoy my last three beers. This one tasted like I was sucking every bit of juice off a grapefruit peel. I couldn't taste any other flavor. So if you're a big grapefruit lover I recommend this, if not I'd stay clear away.

My Thoughts
I decided to go stout again, and I was really excited to try this since I love chai. Personally I get a chai tea latte with lowfat milk from Starbucks, but that doesn't matter now. I was a little disappointed because the chai didn't come through so much as the milk. It didn't make the beer taste bad thanks to the spices, but I expected a different flavor. Pretty smooth to drink though, so I'd definitely give this a try again.

I really don't have anything to say about this except this was the best cider I've ever drank in my life. While most ciders I've had have a little tartness to it, this one was fresh and fruity all the way through. Looking up cidre it has a different process than cider. It uses far less apples eliminating the need for concentrates, and other enhancements to give it a consistent flavor. Seriously do yourself a favor and buy this.

Besides grapefruit, passion fruit is another flavor I love, so when I saw this I was hyped! The can was also very appealing with its bright colors and design. I would've never thought this was from Kansas City since they're landlocked, buy a city can dream. The beer itself instantly gave its fruity nature away once I opened it and took a whiff of it. The first sip I could only taste the grapefruit zest, but after a few more sips the passion fruit came out and I felt I was in fruit beer paradise.

My Thoughts
This is another beer where I'm just like, "There is nothing they won't put into beer nowadays." If you're looking for a beer that will put your mouth on fire, this isn't it. However, if you love the taste of peppers without the burn, this is the beer for you. It's a pretty smooth lager to drink and it's the aftertaste that gives the hint of peppers. The bad thing is that aftertaste is a little too consistent, and I wouldn't be able to drink two of these beers in a sitting.

So earlier in this series I asked ya'll to go check out a brewery's website because it was weak sauce. Now I'm asking you to go this brewery's website because it is interactive, well designed, and just awesome! I'd expect nothing less from a brewery that has art of a bear/horse with a grenade on their bottle. I was scared I wasn't going to like it since it's extra bitter, but it was pretty smooth to drink. The 7 different malts in it blend in well giving it a very earthy taste.

My Thoughts
The whole purpose about this blog isn't just to justify my alcoholism, but to learn about beer. When I saw Kolsch I was confused, and instantly wanted to learn what that is. A Kolsch is sort of a hybrid beer. Brewed like any other ale, but stored cold like a lager for one to two months. To some this may taste like a watered down ale. Which is true since it's not made like an ale, but it still packed a sweet taste. I'm looking forward to trying more of these.

Pretty standard Pale Ale here. The first sip was full of citrus and pine notes. As I continued to drink it had a bitter taste to finish it off. Definitely not a beer I would want to chug down, and more of a sit down beer to enjoy both in flavor and design. I love this series they have going on. I checked out the first and personally I like this, and I highly recommend you go to their website to see the full design.

This one is for all my friends who can't have gluten. I found a brewery that exclusively makes gluten free beers from pale ale to this lager. If you miss beer I recommend checking these beers out! I was a little hesitant because anything I've had that's gluten free misses the mark on flavor for me, but this lager was delicious. Smooth and very crisp flavor, I'd have to say it's better than most lagers. Guess gluten isn't all that?

If I can keep finding ciders maybe I'll make Sundays cider days, but no promises. This is one of my favorite non-apple ciders. Super sweet with just the right amount of tartness from the pineapple. Definitely recommend this cidery if you're looking for more than apples in ciders.

Finding these fruity beers is definitely one of the highlights doing this blog. I love all fruit, so when it's in beer and has a strong taste in it I'm in heaven. This one was positively mouth watering with a very sweet and fruity flavor. For only being 5.5% it actually felt like I had drank three beers. Guess that's why they use passion fruit in hurricanes. This is good for anyone easing away from the fruity drinks and experimenting with beer.

Okay, I just found my new favorite beer. If you're an art director can you make an image with stars on the ends that say "Current Favorite". This beer was the right amount of sweet from beginning to end. It had a distinct flavor I couldn't pinpoint at the beginning, so when I looked on the brewery's website I had that "ah-ha" moment when I saw it was caramel. I'm also a sucker for any brewery that makes references to zombies.

If you've had your beer you know it's delicious. If you haven't I recommend this for anyone that loves good flavor, and it does what a beer is supposed to do, make you feel good. I went deep into this one and found out the word tripel comes from the Trappist monks when they needed to name their strongest beers in the 1950s. The name "Golden Monkey" comes from the usual color of a tripel and the banana flavor.

Brewery
Big Choice Brewing

ABV

My Thoughts
I was looking forward to this one. I figured it would be similar to the chile lager, and start off with a stout taste with a little heat in the aftertaste. However, this is an important lesson to always read your labels since I completely missed the "No Heat" label. When they put in the poblano peppers they are fully de-seeded taking away the heat. The beer itself was pretty good with the pepper flavor, but it's still hard for me to find a stout I will repeat drink.

It's been awhile since I had a double IPA, and it was Friday night so had to get a little wild. Nothing really special about the taste in this one, but still really good. Definitely recommend as a starting beer for those trying to up their ABV game.

The beer was great, but I want to get to the story behind it. The name came from the time Lagunitas brewpub was shut down by the ABC due to them providing weed to their patrons with the help of undercover cops. This beer was made to remember that night, and I feel the ABV% is similar to how intense that night was for them. Definitely check out the full story on their website!

My Thoughts
I need to keep my eye on this brewery. Unlike most breweries they don't have year round beers. They feel their beer should change with the seasons, so your favorite beer from them probably won't be around long. This is great for me since I need more and more beer to try, but bad if I really like one and it's no longer available. Sad face. As for this beer it was a good break from the high ABV beers I had this weekend, and the Irish Car Bombs.

Rosé all day am I right? I'm actually pretty fond of rosé, especially frozé, which is just frozen rosé. So when I saw Angry Orchard come out with this I had to give it a try. It's definitely a summer drink with the sweet taste of apples with no real tartness to it making it a smooth drink from beginning to end. As much as I love beer I might take this out for any summer adventures.

Type/Style
Belgian Wit

Brewery
Rockyard Brewing

My Thoughts
Wit or witbier was a dying style until recently brewers found them to be perfect for the summer. Traditionally, witbier is brewed with oats, wheat and loaded with spices to give them their distinct flavor. The blood orange is thrown in post fermentation so it has a very sweet taste with a hint of tartness. I actually didn't look at the whole can when I bought it and turned it around I was pleasantly surprised to see the. artwork. The other side is bland so you don't need to see it.

My Thoughts
The negative thing about pilsners is that they are so easy to drink that you usually finish your can/bottle fairly quickly, or is that just me? Either way I think all pilsners should be packaged in 16oz cans. This one was solid all the way through, but it really didn't have a distinct style. It had a very grainy malt flavor and that was it. Probably won't drink again unless I need a light beer to last me through a long night.

The beer was pretty sweet and refreshing with a fruity taste from start to finish with tangerine being the strongest flavor. Being a saison it still had it's spice kick to it, but it wasn't overbearing giving it a smooth feel on the tongue.

Of course when it's originally in the beer, not that I carry a bottle of honey with me into bars. Maybe I should? This beer was good. It had a little bit of spice from the wheat, but it complimented well with the sweetness from the honey.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is the highest ABV cider I've had during this blog. To be honest it didn't make much of a difference in taste, but I did feel good after drinking it. This is a dry cider, so it wasn't very sweet, but it was really tart and tangy from start to finish. It won't get you buzzing, but it will definitely keep you refreshed during a picnic, hike, or whatever summer activity you're into. I am attracted to lagers because they give you a crisp easy-to-drink experience. One of my favorite lagers were the Coors summer citrus cans (RIP). However, I did not have that with this one. The tartness of this beer made it hard to take big gulps. Lagers don't have the hops like IPA's do to counterbalance the tart flavors and spices added to them, so you get the pure flavor of what's added. I'm sure others will like this, sadly, not me.

It was very rich in chocolate flavor making it almost a stout, but not as heavy. Another thing I liked about this is the malty chocolate flavor made it a beer I would want multiple of. Taking a breather from the behemoth I guzzled down yesterday I decided to grab a lager so I don't go too big, too fast this week. Just like any pilsner it had a bready taste to it, but you could hardly taste any alcohol in it. It was almost like drinking ice water that had bread soaking in it. As much as I love the taste of alcohol, if a beer has a refreshing taste and masks the alcohol, I will definitely be revisiting it for low key evenings.

A very flavorful pale ale. I like the emphasis on "Juicy" on this can which I should've guessed I would be welcomed by a bunch of sweet fruity flavors. Definitely would recommend this beer for those that aren't big beer drinkers, but love fruity flavors.

Lakefront Brewery

My Thoughts
I've always been fascinated with beers, and beverages in general, that give you a dry taste. I'm drinking to fulfill my thirst, but I still feel thirsty. What a great way to get people to drink more, and I have no problem with that. Besides a dry taste it also came with a malty taste throughout with dark caramel malts. I would definitely pair this with a juicy burger, steak, or even a soup.

My Thoughts
I was completely confused when I grabbed this one to drink. I'm trying to do an import time to time during this adventure, and the imports is where I grabbed this (I like to grab blind to make it more fun). Anyways, I see CA and I'm confused how this can be an import. It's actually the sister brewery to the original one in Salzburg, Austria. So that's cool. When I opened this one it legit smelled like weed. So not sure if that's a CA thing or Austria thing, but it was delicious and so was the taste.

My Thoughts
Another juicy beer that's almost saison in its nature with the carbonation and fruity flavor. However, this one has a little tart flavor that balances it into a refreshing start with a dry ending. I can't pinpoint what the other flavor is in here because I'm not an apricot fan. I'm gonna go with orange, but give it a try and let me know what flavor you think it is.

My Thoughts
Side note from the blog. These beers have made this NBA season much more bearable. For those who don't know I am a Spurs fan and this season has been an up and down roller coaster of emotions. As I'm writing this review I'm staining my computer with tears from another beatdown for us. Back to the beer. This wasn't one of my favorites. While the beer was sweet it was overpowered by a milky tartness that made it a little difficult to finish.

Trail beer

Type/Style
Northwest Pale Ale

Brewery
10 Barrel Brewing

My Thoughts
Before I go into the beer just thought I'd drop some knowledge on y'all. What makes a Northwest pale ale is an amber color with a woodsy hop aroma. So if it smells like trees and nature, then it is or resembles the Northwest style. The beer itself was smooth and refreshing. So much that it took some restraint to enjoy it and not chug it down. Very citrusy with a passionfruit bite to it that comes from the galaxy hops grown out of Australia.

Brewery
Breckenridge Brewing

My Thoughts
I had no idea this brewery was in Colorado. I got a free pint glass back in Richmond with this brewery's logo, and I always thought it was in Virginia. The more you know. Anyways I was pretty disappointed with this one. I love mango and I'm starting to see a trend when my favorite fruits are the main ingredient in a beer flavor it isn't that good, to me at least. It just had a rough feeling at the back of my throat. It just tasted like someone threw a mango into my beer, and that wasn't as tasty as I thought it would be.

I like how instead of rounding up or down they just kept the .25. I'm the same way. If I ask what time it is and you say 6 and it's 5:51 I may hate you cause I need exact times! Anyways this beer was very fruity, smooth, and refreshing from start to finish. Another beer I recommend to people who don't like the beer taste, but have sweet tastebuds.

Brown Ale

Brewery
Big Sky Brewing

ABV

My Thoughts
Just a little lesson in beer is that brown ales are just called that due to their color that's usually brown or a dark amber. Like Guinness you can't judge a beer by the looks of it. I was expecting a heavy beer I'd be sipping on, but not this one. It was refreshing and easy to drink with notes of coffee and cocoa that complemented the malts. Slight bitterness, but not overpowering.

Blood orange gose

Type/Style
Wheat Ale

My Thoughts
Yay, more beer knowledge! Gose "go-suh", is a top-fermenting beer that originated in Goslar, Germany. This style is characterized by the use of coriander and salt. Breweries now use different spices and liqueur flavorings, but it was originally made sour by inoculating the wort with lactic acid bacteria before primary alcoholic fermentation. Not sure about that, but this one wasn't too sour and had a tangy aftertaste making it almost like champagne.

My Thoughts
"Everything is more rewarding with a beer." Somebody has said that, but if no one has I'll take credit for this quote. This one had a very strong tart flavor to it that almost made me thinking I was drinking a wine. The raspberry flavor has a strong presence from start to finish with a small hint of bread flavor from the first sip. Definitely a beer you would enjoy on a summer day and take your time with.

I feel like pilsners taste like what all beer is thought to taste like. I mean we've all snuck into our uncle's garage and snag a miller lite or bud light from their garage fridge. It's the perfect beer for any post workout or intense labor. It just goes down smooth. This one is no different. While it had some spice flavors,  it did not take away from the malty backbone of the beer.

This was a very delicious porter that made me feel I was drinking desert during dinner. This is basically the great divide of beer since it's a chocolate vanilla porter. My Thoughts
"Whoa". That is the first word out of my mouth not from drinking this cider, but from smelling it. Cider has always smelled fruity or sweet, but this one smelled funky. Like apple slices left out for four days in 98 degree weather on a summer day in San Marcos, TX and that is pretty bad. However I sucked it up and drank it. I'm a little bummed that I want to try this again because it was so delicious and crisp, but it smelled so weird through the whole can.

My Thoughts
I'm not sure if the story is true, but this beer came to be because a dream the brewmaster had. Apparently it had to do with him being a wolf at a speed dating event, and ended up leaving because we wasn't feeling it. A little weird, but whatever makes a quality beer. A good amount of bitterness with an herbal taste to it. Very sweet with a bready malt taste to it.

My Thoughts
Another post giving some knowledge in the beer world. Altbier is German for “Old Beer”, this refers to the “old” style of brewing using an ale yeast. In addition to a cool clean fermentation, altbiers are then lagered at cold temperatures to help smooth and refine the beer. The result of this is a very clean and hoppy red ale. The best time to drink this beer is when it's at it its coldest. You get a sweet flavorful amber malt taste from it.

My Thoughts
I was excited to come back to this brewery, and this time I tackled their pilsner. It was very different from other pilsners I've had. Not really a quick drink, but still lip smacking all the way through. The yeast taste is still present with the hops providing a compliment that gives it a floral flavor. I would like to see more beers brewing the pilsner with different variations. This one was really good.

This was the first beer where I felt I was in the label. After I open it I get a quick whiff of pine needles and fruity aromas. The fruity taste continued as I drank it, but I also got a taste of caramel malt in the background. While the fruity aroma gave it a sweet taste in the beginning, after a few sips you start to taste the piney bitterness throughout the drink.

Both Coast IPA

My Thoughts
Just like Celtics/Lakers, rappers rivalries. There is also a rivalry between beers for east and west coast, specifically IPAs. Just a quick fact to help distinguish them. East coast is more focused on malt sweetness, while West coast focuses to bring hop bitterness to the front. As for this one it was a good attempt to try to bring them together, but from the drink it felt West coast overpowered East coast. Still good, but on the look out for a beer that perfectly combines them.

My Thoughts
Without a doubt one of the fruitiest beers I've had on this adventure. This one might not be for everyone I'll go ahead and say that, but if you love eating tart fruits you'll love this. The mixture of blueberry, raspberry, and cherry reminded me of the fruit bowls I used to make as a kid. It was refreshing and really sweet all the way through. If you have a sweet tooth I can't recommend this beer enough.

My Thoughts
My computer says the website to the brewery is a security threat, so if you want to check them out I say do it at your own risk. Anyways, back to the beer. It had been awhile since I had a red ale and especially one so strong. A little carbonation to it probably because of the fruity flavors. A strong earthy malt to it that almost resembled caramel. Felt a slight buzz after, so if one beer can do that it gets a thumbs up from me.

Another learning post! Grisette originated in French Wallonia located in Southern Belgium. Think of this beer as the working class beer. Not very pricey, and usually low in ABV. However, this one is very sweet and tart similar to a saison. I wasn't too big of a fan. I usually love a saison, but this ones sweetness was just a little off to me.

Happy Cinco De Mayo! Don't need to give me an excuse to drink, but at least gives me a reason to review one of my favorite cervezas. It's just the easiest to drink, whether it has a lime or not. Probably has the most taste too as I can taste lime and corn. This is basically Mexico in a can, and I'd order this any time!

Omission Brewing Co.

My Thoughts
Revisiting the gluten free brewery to see if the other flavors are just as good without the all mighty gluten. This one was so-so sadly. I felt it tasted a little metallic with a dry flavor. There was no real crisp to it that made me enjoy a sip. It was like a hoppy lager. I think the 5.8% is a little generous. I wouldn't drink it again, but I still recommend this to anyone allergic to gluten and still wants a brewski.

My Thoughts
Holy moly this beer was super delicious. So a radler is a German term for a mixture of beer with fruit soda. I thought this one had a little more carbonation in it, so had to check what exactly a radler is. I think this is the greatest invention ever for beer, but then again I favor grapefruit over everything. I'll have to try different flavors down the road, but for now I think I found my favorite light beer.

I have always found it hard for a lager to taste good when it's sweetened with fruity flavors. But, because this is a kolsch and fermented with yeast this was a very solid beer. Moderately tart with an earthy flavor from the yeast. The peach flavor comes out through the whole drink making it a crisp summer beer to have.

My Thoughts
Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed when I tried this out. I came in with an open mind with the ABV not being so high, but that's because English styles are usually not that high. It just didn't have that juicy flavor that comes with an IPA. Much more bitter than expected. Would love to see a double IPA from them to see if that can bring out the fruity flavors.

My Thoughts
I love doppelbocks because they keep the malty and creamy flavors of a bock, but intensify it with higher alcohol content. This one had a rich malty flavor of caramel with a bready feel mixed with nuts. This one is a little dangerous because the alcohol is very well hidden making this an easy drink. Two of these beers could go down in less than 10 minutes, but you'll defnitely feel it soon.

I love the idea behind the name of this beer. Similar to a moped some people feel embarrassed to be seen drinking a light beer. There is nothing to be ashamed of. The lighter the beer the more refreshing and easy drinking it is. This one has the perfect balance of fruit and yeast. Probably one the easiest beers I've ever put down, and you could easily have a six pack of these on a warm summer day.

Another low ABV IPA. Since I've had some good luck with them the past few brews I felt this one would be just as delicious without the high alcohol content. When I first opened this up I could smell the fruity notes to it with a sour smell to it. When I started to drink it I noticed it was more sour and tart than sweet. Not well balanced, and kind of hard to drink. But, if you do love really sour beers this is the one for you.

My first collab beer, and I was excited to try it since I had such a good beer from Gemini earlier in this blog. Saison and sake yeast are put together while jasmine rice is added to give it a unique flavor. It was a dry drink so it's not a beer you can put away easily, but it's enjoyable all the way through. It has a unique spice to it, and once I finished it I got a little buzz from it. It came out this year, but who knows how long it'll be available so I would grab a pack soon.

Anyways, back to this beer, I enjoy the brown sugar added to brown ales. Gives it a unique spice to it making a slow to drink beer you have to slowly enjoy. Similar to a milkshake I did not want to put it down. The feel made the alcohol taste nonexistent, but I could tell by the end I was feeling a little buzzed. This is an experimental flavor, so I would seek this out while you can.

The smell from this was pungent with hints of grapefruit, and something else I couldn't point out. To be honest I wouldn't want to smell this for long, but the flavor would definitely keep me around. I always wondered what the difference was between an american pale ale and an IPA. Well besides their first letter IPAs are known for being much more hoppy, and a lot stronger than APAs. This one didn't taste that strong, but it was definitely the orange peel flavor that masked the ABV. Citrusy throughout and a little taste of honey/wheat I recommend this for your summer routine.

Sometimes people just want a good old-fashioned IPA with none of the insane hop flavors, and fermentation tricks. That's where this "Average" Joe IPA comes in. The brewery, first of all, does a good job of keeping the can art simple and straightforward like any Joe is. The beer itself was delicious opening with citrus flavors, and ending with a bitter taste. Nothing more, but nothing less. I'd still drink again.

However, since I was able to drink it through one complete game means that it was very easy to drink. Super smooth and crisp, it definitely quenched my thirst as I was sweating for the win. I tried a radler earlier and absolutely loved it. This one is no different. Has a very light beer taste with a mouth punching sweet flavor of lemonade and raspberry. Your summer will not be complete if you don't try the first radler you see. I've had my fair share of lemonade beers, so I was a little worried to try. However, the carbonation of the soda masked the tart flavor of the lemonade making it smooth and crisp.

My Thoughts
This is such a sweet can design is the first compliment I want to give this beer. Second, i don't think you can make a Mexican lager wrong. This is smooth and goes down easily with a subtle taste of lime. I would love to see a luchador chug this beer on the ropes right before he does a flying seismic body slam, or something like that.

My Thoughts
Another summer beer I had to try. Not as sweet as the other ones I've tried this summer, but the tangy flavor all the way through has me wanting more. Don't let the sea salt steer you away. I could barely taste the salt, and the hibiscus carried it all the way through. I'd recommend this to anyone how enjoys hibiscus tea or the kombucha.

My Thoughts
I can't believe how I've never tried this till today. It legitimately tasted like a chocolate shake, and I was very sad when I finished it. Being a low ABV it wasn't too hard to drink, and the chocolate flavor was really rich. If you love beer and chocolate this is the beer for you. When it starts to cool down I'm gonna stock up on these beauties, because it's not really an ideal summer beer.

Another fruit flavored lager I was hoping to be good, and this one did not disappoint. When I first opened it I was greeted with the smell of raspberry, and that continued throughout the entire beer with the subtle taste of the pilsner malts. Wasn't overly sweet or tart, and went down really smooth.

My Thoughts
This was probably one of the most anticipated beers for me throughout this adventure. I got this beer a month ago waiting for the right time to drink, and getting 1st on Fortnite seemed like a great time. You could instantly taste the bourbon the moment it touches your lips. Very slow to drink as the beer itself is kinda thick with chocolate and caramel malts, but trust me this is a beer you want to savor.

Type/Style
Brown Ale

Brewery
Bonfire Brewing

My Thoughts
I love brown ales, they keep the creamy feel of a stout with a smooth easy to drink taste of a pale ale. This one had more of a coffee malt flavor to it that gave it a roasted feel to it. Not sure if I would drink again as I tasted a strong brown sugar taste that seemed to overpower the other flavors from time to time.

My Thoughts
The artwork of this can is based on a man called St. Lupulin. A hophead that saw the power in the oils that came from lupulins. A lupulin is a bitter, yellowish powder found on glandular hairs beneath the scales of the flowers of the female hop plant. This beer has a little fruit flavor to it, but the flavor that dominates it is a nice floral earthy flavor. Perfect beer for camping or eating a steak.

Another sour beer added to the list. Gose beers have this distinct lemon sour flavor to them that isn't for everyone, but I try to judge these on their overall drinkability. This was a zinger to start with, but I got used to the taste after a few sips and it actually had more of a salty aftertaste. Overall a good beer, but I probably will not drink this again.

Even though this beer was unfiltered and had a fuller body to it, I didn't really taste a unique flavor to it. A little smoother than I expected with a mild bitterness to it. Not really a bitter fan for IPAs, and prefer a more juicy sweet flavor to them. This isn't a bad IPA, but not one of my favorites.

This beer was a little too heavy for me in terms of richness. Full flavored with chocolate and caramel carrying a rich flavor throughout the beer. It took me awhile to finish this beer and while I enjoyed it, I don't think I could drink this again. I also found it depressing that this brewery is closed. Another delicious grapefruit IPA that I need to have more of. I love that this brewery puts all their beers in pint cans. That's an extra four ounces of heaven for me. I was welcomed with an explosion of fruity flavors that made my mouth water. Grapefruit of course was the front runner flavor, but the subtle taste of mango made this the best IPA I've had so far. Not your normal pilsner. When I opened it I was welcomed with a frothy head, and I could smell the hops in it. Still relatively smooth to drink, but took a little longer to drink.  I'd definitely try this again because of the dry fruity flavor I tasted throughout it.

My Thoughts
There were some good things about this beer, and some bad. First, the good. This was a very easy to drink beer beer. Almost like an ale rather than a porter. And the graham cracker taste was so delicious it felt like I needed to be by a fire telling ghost stories. However, the easy to drink vibe I got from it was the downfall. Kinda tasted like I was drinking a carbonated soda with graham cracker flavoring. Good start for anyone getting into porters.

It's been a while since I've had a spiced beer. Not sure what I felt about the last one, but that doesn't matter cause that's the past and this is the here and and now! This is also a gluten free beer, and I'm going to say this is my favorite gluten free beer so far. The ginger takes center stage, but it's not over bearing making it a smooth and easy to drink beer. I recommend this for everyone even the gluten lovers.

Not as strong as a smell as I'm used to for double IPAs, but looks can be deceiving. Once I started drinking this I knew this was going to be a fun drink. Bursting with citrus flavors and sweet tastes, but that couldn't mask how heavy this beer was and I was feeling it halfway through. The best part about this is the lack of bitter taste. Almost citrusy all the way through and that's how I like my beers.

This makes an IPA that has the hoppy citrus characteristics mixed with a bitter, but still smooth taste.

You may be looking at the MPA at the bottom of the can, and wonder "What can of beer is this?". Sadly, this is just a regular IPA, but this brewery calls their IPAs Melvin Pale Ales, so that's disappointing. What's not disappointing is this beer. Not a heavy beer at all. I believe this is my first New York beverage, and I have to say it was interesting. Not really too sweet for a cider and more tart making it more of a sit down beverage than a chugger. A very distinct IPA. Not so fruity from when you first drink it. More of a piney, earth feel to it. Has a good malty flavor to it making it an easy to drink beer. Not so much a smooth drink due to it's dry/bitter feel to it, but still enjoyable. I also love the can art. The bison is just standing there majestically while he's sporting some damage scars.

This was the most Mexican, non-Mexican lager I've ever had. It was a post bar night for this beer, so I kinda just grabbed it from my fridge without looking. Started playing some Fortnite, and bragged to my teammates how delicious the Mexican lager I was drinking. However, this was just your everyday pilsner with mango and lime in it. Well as I said this beer is brag worthy as it was just so smooth to drink and filled with lip smacking flavors from the mango and lime.

I just can't see the need to buy a six pack of stouts based around milk. Like taste it's similar to a shake that's not as thick, but still creamy. And that's delicious, but I just don't see a situation where I drink a whole six pack of these. I feel if this is the only beer you're drinking for the night, then maybe. If you had a different type of beer with this I feel your stomach will punish you by the end of the night.

My Thoughts
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is the lowest ABV IPA I've ever had. As much as I hate that, and don't want to drink this again...I do in fact want to drink this again. The lack of alcohol made is a citrusy refresher, especially since I was playing volleyball when I cracked this bad boy open. As much as I prefer a higher ABV this can is perfect for post/mid physical activity.

I came into this with low expectations thinking there's no way they can replicate an agua fresca in a beer. And well I was semi right. It had all the flavors down and it was refreshing, but it was just a little difficult to drink. Maybe too many flavors in this one. I'm used to a fresca being one specific flavor, so that probably threw off my judgement. Probably won't drink this again unless they make specific fresca flavors.

This is the best news I've heard in awhile since bees are becoming more and more extinct everyday. Not only do they keep us alive, but they provide us a delicious beer that is sweet from start to finish. So go find this beer and help the cause for bees!

I was going to drink a Bud Light today, because nothing is more American than that. However, I forgot to go to the store and I thought It would be better to drink a Mexican lager on independence day. I have been impressed with every Mexican lager I've had from a Colorado brewery. Smooth and crisp with a little hint of lime that bites in the aftertaste. I also wanted to note that Catan is in the background, so it was an amazing 4th for me.

I feel the name comes from a woman named Alice that had a warm nurturing personality, but could turn on the heat if she needed to.

I was really surprised when I checked the type of beer this was. Truthfully, I didn't see it was a stout on the can at first and when I found it I couldn't believe it. I recommend this for anyone who has a love/hate relationship with stouts like I do.

This I believe is my first Ireland beer, and I don't think I got the right taste from it. When I went to go check on the brewery's website I saw that it is originally supposed to be 3.8%, but it's 4.5% here in the states. Makes me wonder why they did that. Historically, American brews are heavier than European beers, so they may have increased the ABV to cater to the American beer lovers. Overall, I didn't quite like it and I hope I can taste the original beer one day.

I believe I've drank a farmhouse ale earlier in this series, but I didn't really research what they are. So, it's not a specific type of beer, but actually all styles of beer that have a unique style to it. Usually farmhouse beers have a funky smell and a tart flavor to them. As strong as this was I couldn't really taste the alcohol due to the pungent smell of it. I don't know if y'all have smelled wet hey before, but that's what the smell was most similar to.

Shoutout to Rowdy Mermaid kombucha they collaborated with. For such a funky beer that had a farmhouse ale style to it, it was also very refreshing. I believe this is my second bourbon barreled beer, and again I was not disappointed. The beer really soaked up the bourbon from the barrel, but there was also a light hint of cherries. I looked up why, and the reason was to make up for the angel share of the bourbon. That is the bourbon that is evaporated and lost due to the aging cycle. I recommend this to anyone that loves bourbon and a strong beer with a toffee flavor to it.

Went across the seas again. Not only to get a taste of what the world has to offer in beer, but also I've been drinking a lot of high ABV beers and needed a break from that. According to their website this is the original pilsner. Not sure how valid that claim is, but if it's true people had good beer back then. So smooth and so crisp it was almost like drinking water. I'd definitely grab another one of these to chug down. Pilsners are just more flavorful and wheaty in other countries.

My first beer from a Mississippi brewery, and it was pretty good. It comes from the porch series and I think this is a perfect beer for that. When i drink of this I think of apple turnovers, except a pear flavor. Very bready and sweet at the same time. This is another dangerous beer to have since it doesn't have a heavy alcohol taste, but it's definitely gonna hit you once you're done with it.

This one was difficult for a reason I wasn't expecting. It kept bubbling up no matter how slowly I tried to drink it. My Thoughts
Another bold statement from a brewery to name their beer with confidence that it is indeed delicious. Well for being a brewery that has expanded throughout the country they still make one heck of a beer. After I popped the cap I could smell the fruity aroma instantly. Opens up with a lemon zest at the beginning and ends with a kick of grapefruit. Not a dry tasting beer, so even the high ABV didn't stop me from finishing it rather quickly.

This beer was provided by my buddy Dan who actually asked me to be one of his groomsmen at his wedding. We'll see next year if he made the right choice. Now for the beer I will say that I liked it at the beginning. Notes of coffee and chocolate, actually more of an expresso roast. It was the bitter aftertaste I got thrown off with. Not what I was expecting in a stout. The high ABV saves it, so I would definitely drink it again. I also have 3 left in my fridge.

I'm loving this adventure for not only the beers, but also the ciders. I've had some very delicious flavors and this is one of them. The hibiscus provided a tart taste, and was balanced out by the sweet blueberries. One was not overpowering the other, so it was very well balanced. Like other ciders this had a really funky smell to it. Almost like old rotting fruit smell, but don't let that turn you away. This moderately dry cider was a joy to drink.

It's a little weird a Chicago brewery made a beer as an ode to California, but beer is weird so I shouldn't wonder.  From the first sip I was punched in the face with a fruity spice. Couldn't point out the fruit, so checked it out and it's white grape and guava. Balanced bitter flavor from the spice which is actually a garlic spice. I didn't like it at first, but it grew on me and changed my no to a yes.

Naughty Marilyn

Type/Style
Belgian Ale

Brewery
Crystal Springs Brewing Co.

ABV
8.2%

My Thoughts
This was a delicious ale. Very fruity with a mild hop flavor to it. It is brewed with a Belgian yeast that gives off a citrusy flavor with some spice to it. It started out dry, but the orange taste really kicked up mid way through making it a super easy drink to have. At 8.2% the name Naughty Marilyn really lives up to it. Beautifully crafted, but if you're not careful a few of these will lead to a crazy night.

Lush

Type/Style

Brewery
Fremont Brewing

ABV

My Thoughts
A lot of breweries talk about how important it is to make great beer. Life is too short to drink bad beer, and that's why I'm doing this beer blog. To avoid the bad beers later in life. Anyways, back to this IPA it was fruity and even had a minty flavor to it. There was a flavor profile I couldn't figure out what, but I felt dumb I couldn't catch it when I found out it was honey. That came from the malts added to it. Definitely an easy drinking dry beer.

Type/Style
Pilsner

Brewery
Guinness Ltd

ABV
4.5%

My Thoughts
This was the more flavorful pilsners I have had this year. Not sure if I've said this earlier but the pilsners in America, like Bud Light and Coors, are not similar to the craft lagers and foreign pilsners. More spice and grassier notes than your normal light pilsner. Wasn't my favorite lager to drink with a very light body, but still refreshing. Probably won't drink it again though.

Red IPA

Type/Style
IPA

Brewery
Finkel & Garf Craft Beer

ABV
6.5%

My Thoughts
I'm going to right away and say I really enjoyed this beer. However, it is not what I was expecting. I was thinking it was going to be an explosion of hops with citrusy flavors, but it was barely there. It was more of a fruity grainy taste. Like bread that was dipped in jam. If you're looking to drink an IPA this will disappoint you, but if you're looking for a red ale this is perfect.

Type/Style
Pilsner

Brewery
Elevation Beer Co

ABV

My Thoughts
I need to grab one of these brews from Elevation and drink them on top of a mountain. i feel that would be the best way to honor this brewery. I did drink this after a night run, so it was a refreshing post workout beer. A little more hoppy than I expected so it wasn't a straight chug, but still went down smooth. Mild bitterness with a wheaty aftertaste. I'd bring a six pack of these for a light drinking day.

Blonde ale

Type/Style
Blonde Ale

Brewery
New Planet Beer

ABV

My Thoughts
Still bummed that most gluten free breweries don't give their weaker beers names. I've noticed the IPAs get sweet names, but the weaker beers are given nothing. Come on breweries show all your beers some love and give them some sweet names. I'm not sure what the substitute is for the wheat, but it tasted almost cidery. Very light beer, and overall had a weird taste. It's good to see breweries try to make beer accessible for everyone, but there are still milestones to be made.

Day 215

Dr. Pat's

Type/Style
Double IPA

Brewery
High Hops Brewery

ABV
8.6%

My Thoughts
I didn't notice this the first time I had this brewery's beer, but the logo for this brewery is a couple of weed leaves as wings for a hop. I'm a simple man so I had to point that out because that is clever and funny. These double IPAs are no joke. They can make me feel a little funky just halfway through, so I normally drink these on the weekend or I'm gonna have a bad morning. This beer was intense. Packed with flavor and hops with a piney aftertaste. Seriously, only drink one ha.

Brewery
Denver Beer Co

ABV

My Thoughts
I love my new job, and I'm happy for all the breweries around it. However, I do miss being a seven minute walk away from this brewery. It was always lively and they have some of the best brews. I finally found this in the mix-n-match section of the store so I was hyped to give it a review. As you can tell I like this beer. High in ABV, but not too heavy to drink. Packed with fruitful and citrusy hops. The flavors include tangerine, grapefruit, and pine. Definitely drink this!

Type/Style
Pilsner

Brewery
AleSmith Brewing

ABV
4.9%

My Thoughts
It was a rough weekend. Not physically, but I somehow ended up drinking way to much on Saturday, so the last thing I wanted to drink was a beer on Sunday. I searched through my fridge for the least flavorful and lowest ABV beer I had. Like I said earlier in this blog I go out and buy 2-3 six packs so I'm not always at the liquor store. Anyways, I saw pils and my eyes glowed up. Smooth with a light bitterness I just chugged this little guy and passed out the rest of the day.

Brewery
Two Roads Brewing

My Thoughts
I bet these fruit ales are really refreshing on a warm Summer's day. Unfortunately, I was stuck inside most of the day. It's all good since I still got to enjoy this as the sun was going down. Well I didn't completely enjoy this. I'm not a big lemongrass fan, but I thought the raspberries would give it a little fruit flavor to them. It was there, but more tart than anything else. It tasted almost like what cleaning supplies smell like. I'm sure others will like this, but I'll have to pass.

 Day 219

Day 219

half pipe

Type/Style
Sour Ale

Brewery
Tallgrass Brewing

ABV

My Thoughts
This beer is the first in a new installment for this brewery called the Revival Lab where they bring back original recipes from their beginning. I'll start with the smell that was very pungent, and a slight fruity aroma. Not as tart as I was expecting, but it was very refreshing. Not sure if this will become a staple again or a seasonal beer, but I recommend grabbing this before they end up going away again.

 Day 220

Day 220

Type/Style
Double IPA

Brewery
Hops & Grain Brewery

ABV
8.2%

My Thoughts
For such a strong DIPA it didn't really have much effect on me. Usually a DIPA ruins my Fortnite gameplay, but I was on fire this night with 4 dubs in squads. It almost tasted like a radler actually bursting with flavor, but there was still a large amount of hops present. I might have to say this was the tastiest DIPA I've had this year. Althought I do feel a little biased because this beer is from Austin, but it's my blog so I can be as biased as possible.

A salted cucumber

Type/Style
Cider

Brewery
Stem Ciders

ABV
6.7%

My Thoughts
This cider was not that good to me. I honestly hate giving bad reviews cause I know how passionate these brewers and cider crafters are. The salt was just overpowering and the cucumber didn't mesh well with the apple. I'm actually a big fan of the real dill which is who they callaborated with. Check them out when you have a chance, and I will check out other ciders from here to give them another chance.

Day 222

claymore

Type/Style
Scotch Ale

Brewery
Great Divide Brewery

ABV

My Thoughts
Despite the name, it is not actually named after a weapon of war...kinda. A claymore is also a medieval Scottish sword, and that's your culture lesson of the day. Also breaking the fourth wall to say it took me four times to spell medieval, and I even misspelled it one more time so I'm dumb. While it only took one hand to drink this beer it packed a punch at 7.7% and full of fruit flavors and roasted malts. Definitely grab this!

 Day 223

Day 223

west coast ipa

Type/Style
Double IPA

Brewery
Green Flash Brew

ABV
8.1%

My Thoughts
These double IPAs are the favorite part of my weekends. Especially, when I'm drinking the overly hoppy west coast IPAs. Being in Colorado I'm already around a fair amount of hoppy beers, but California just knows how to bring the flavor. Exploding with grapefruit and tropical flavors, an aftertaste that is like a lemon zest, and a smell that's piney. This was a joy to finish, and it was actually fairly easy to put down since it wasn't overly pungeant.

Mama Bear's Brew

ABV

My Thoughts
Hands down my favorite beer. I may have said this earlier in the blog, but I guarantee I won't find something better than this. I am a big tea lover, and with peach it makes it so sweet and irresistible. Just imagine a lager with sweet tea. This is hard to explain cause it's almost exactly like peach tea with a little alcohol. You just have to try this for yourself. I held it over my mouth to make sure I got every drop.

Brewery
Rockyard Brewing Co.

ABV

My Thoughts
I love this brewery's loading screen since I'm a big gamer, and it's Pacman eating the balls or whatever they're called. This was a solid beer that went down really smooth and had a flavorful bready taste to it. And actually this is officially the best German Pilsner in the world as the 2018 World Beer Cup Gold Medal Winner. I would grab this the next time you head to a social gathering or if you just want a beer with your steak or pork. Both could go well with this beer.

Brewery
Castle Island Brewing

ABV
6.5%

My Thoughts
This was my first night in Boston, and the first question I asked the bartender was "what's the best local craft beer you have?" They then slammed down this tall guy in front of me, and it was a great drink from beginning to end. It is power packed with hops releasing flavors like grapefruit, lemon, and peach. Not too aggressive for those who are new to IPAs, so I think this can be good for any level of IPA lovers.

Brewery

My Thoughts
Another day in Boston, so I decided to go cider and it was delicious. I'm not sure if I have had an unfiltered cider, but this was a new type of cider to me so I may haven't. It definitely has a more pungent smell than most ciders, and it taste more fruitful. It was also more heavy taking me a bit longer to finish, but every drop was great.

Day 228

Type/Style
IPA

Brewery
Founders Brewing Co.

ABV
4.7%

My Thoughts
I had seen many people drink this IPA, so I was pretty excited to drink it. However, I wasn't expecting it to be such a lightweight. Didn't really have a malty backbone, and only had a bitter hops flavor. I did some research and session ales are just a lighter IPA with no real malt flavor. As you can see there's a shot in the background since I wasn't really gonna get a good feeling off the 4.7%.

Pale Ale

Brewery
Brooklyn Brewery

ABV

My Thoughts
I'm gonna be honest I don't remember much of this beer, but I will say it was good enough for me to finish. As you can see I drank this bad boy at a show. Next to the mountains this is my favorite background. Seriously, this was a good beer because I'm usually the guy that swings the beer around splashing everyone. Not a good thing to do, but I get hyped! So finishing this means a lot.

My Thoughts
Shout out to my boy Andrew Vessels for grabbing me this. I needed to have one more New York beer before I left, so he surprised me one of his favorites. Not a very flashy can, but it is what's on the inside and the inside was very drinkable. Very earthy flavor comes forward that's very floral. It surprises me every time that flowers can taste as well as they smell. Very dry towards the end with a hint of green apple giving it a little sweet flavor throughout. I definitely recommend.

key lime pie

Type/Style
Cream Ale

Brewery
14er Brewing

ABV
5.1%

My Thoughts
I've never had key lime pie, but I'm going to have to try it after this beer. I love these cream ales because they are basically a dessert beer or a milkshake beer. The cream doesn't make it so heavy and it's more malty than anything else. I also love this limited release beer since it has a unique packaging compared to the rest of the 14er beers that are just different colors.

Day 232

Sea Quench ale

Type/Style
Gose

Brewery
Dogfish Head Brewery

ABV

My Thoughts
At first I thought this was just a sour ale, but turned out to be a Gose because of the way it was fermented. I'm still giving these sea salt beers a try, but again I just couldn't get a liking to it. I loved the taste of limes from the first sip, but then the sea salt comes out in the aftertaste. This was one of the first beers I thought I wouldn't be able to finish, but I powered through for the sake of this entry and to no surprise my thoughts didn't change.

My Thoughts
The fun thing about work trips is you get to attend sweet events and visit places you may have never visited before. However, you are always working so you hardly have time to visit some cool breweries like the Samuel Adams brewery. To make up for it (kinda) I grabbed a Boston Lager, and dang for a mainstream beer this had a nice taste to it. A nice malty flavor with a not too intense but strong bitter flavor.

Day 234

Coors Light

Type/Style

Brewery
Coors Brewing Company

My Thoughts
I was thinking about saving this for my final beer of the year, but I felt that was too trolly. I love this beer. It's my go-to beer for any event. It's light, it's refreshing, and it never makes me feel bloated even after a six-pack. As you can see I'm drinking it at a softball game since it's the one beer that won't slow me down. I may have went 0-2 and walked, but that doesn't matter, only the beer matters.

Brewery
Crispin Cider

ABV

My Thoughts
I kinda miss the unfiltered cider I had in Boston, but I still love the pure crisp flavor of a filtered cider. It's just the smoothest drink, and reminds me of apple juice. Probably the closest thing to an adult kid's drink. This one tasted more like green apples, with a little citrus aroma.

Day 236

Wheat ale brewed with peach purée

Type/Style
Wheat Ale

Brewery
Finkel & Garf Craft Beer

ABV

My Thoughts
I really couldn't taste the peach flavoring in this beer. It's a solid wheat beer with a bready taste, and not too heavy to drink. However, I was really disappointed that it didn't bring the peach flavor forward more. I feel that would've made this stand out more, but I'd probably pass on this next time I see it.

Type/Style
IPA

Brewery
Hopworks Urban Brewery

ABV

My Thoughts
This was probably the longest I have gone without an IPA. I missed these juicy guys. At first I thought this one was brewed with hemp. I could taste a subtle hint of cabaniss, but it was just the oats and wheats it was brewed with. Beyond that initial taste I had a few tropical flavors come out like mango and a little pineapple. I'd definitely grab this again, and I would love to hit the brewery up in Portland. The can design is so sweet.

Type/Style
Red Ale

Brewery
Ska Brewing

ABV

My Thoughts
I can't help but put on some Reel Big Fish and Less Than Jake whenever I drink from this brewery. I actually just found out what skanking is this year. As for the beer it wasn't too heavy, but full bodies. Very sweet flavoring with a strong malty backbone with a pretty strong caramel flavor to it. Not sure if I would enjoy more than one of these in one sitting, but I'd definitely grab again.

 Day 239

Day 239

fugli

Type/Style
IPA

Brewery
Oskar Blues Brewery

ABV

My Thoughts
This is quite a combination of fruits to make a very juicy IPA. The Yuzu fruit is a citrus Japanese fruit the resembles a grapefruit and is close to the mandarin. The Ugli fruit is a Jamaican fruit that also is similar to a grapefruit. Not bad for a brewery in Northwest Colorado. Very tangy with a light bitterness. Not too strong so I could see myself drinking almost the whole six-pack of this.

Type/Style
Stout

Brewery
Breckenridge Brewery

My Thoughts
This was probably one of the easiest stouts I've had this year. Not really too sweet even though it carries a dark chocolate taste to it. More of a roasted coffee flavor that comes forward. It really tasted like a light chocolate milk. I would definitely drink more than one of these. I can't wait for the snow to start, and while everyone is drinking their hot chocolate I'm knocking back this stout.

My Thoughts
As I was leaving my place to go to the airport I decided that I should have one more beer before I fly back home for the weekend. Glad I wasn’t driving because this beer’s alcohol snuck up on me. I also didn’t eat anything with this, but I’ll still give it to the beer. This one had a lot of hops in it…A LOT! The main flavors that stuck out were piney and citrus. If you take a whiff of it you’d feel you’re in the forest. Definitely a beer to be had with a steak or pork next time.

My Thoughts
You’ll notice a change in scenery in my pictures, and that’s because I went back to San Antonio to spend Labor Day with the fam. I was staying with my grandparents, and it’s always a bit awkward drinking around them. Yeah I’m 26 and I shouldn’t care, but try growing up Hispanic and you’ll understand why. Anyways back to this beer I can see why it won a couple of awards. It was almost like drinking bread, and I love bread. As long as you can get pass the little bit of sediment in it this is a quick and tasteful drink.

Seems like unfiltered ciders are just popping up in my life everywhere now. Once you’ve had one the rest just show up. This one was a little funky, which could be good, but I was on the edge for it. Like it had that unfiltered smell, and it packed a tart flavor to it, but it didn’t give me anything to brag about. I was expecting something other than apples. There was definitely more flavors to it, but they just didn’t come forward throughout the beer. Will try a another cider from here, but not this one.

My Thoughts
I love a brewery that doesn’t ask for my age. Like what’s the point? Not like I’m gonna buy beer from the homepage, and even if I wasn’t old enough of course I’d lie. Thanks for making things simple Legal Draft. The beer was good. It was your standard IPA that had a well balanced grain to fruit ratio in the taste. Flavors were very tropical like pineapples and mangos. A tasty IPA I could see being my go-to if I ever move back to Texas.

My Thoughts
Whoa is all I can say about this beer. First I think Kolschs are the best types of beers. They go down smooth like a lager, but they still carry the flavor of an ale. This one was just jam packed with flavor that carried all the way from first sip to last drop. It had a dry wine taste to it with grape, pear, and guava coming forward. It almost felt like I was drinking champagne since it was a tad bubbly. I recommend for beer and wine drinkers of all kinds to give this a try!

As much as I want to be biased and try to give every beer in Texas great remarks this one just didn’t go well for me. I see what they tried to do here and keep the hops subtle while bringing forward the honey flavor with the malt. I know these aren’t meant for a quick chug like a lager, but this one took some effort to finish. I still say give it a try cause it might taste good to you, but I’ll pass on this next time.

My last day back home, so I wanted to end it with a bang. (Not sure it was the right call since I had a 4am flight, but spoiler alert I made it) Not one of the most flavorful DIPAs I’ve had, but the strength of it really won me over. It was a straightforward grapefruit flavor with a floral scent to it. I was able to down it pretty quickly, but I enjoyed every sip of it. And it was one of the cheaper DIPAs I’ve bought so it just has so many good qualities!
